One proud Momma....

This weekend Taylor played in the Dewitt Ox Roast 4 on 4 soccer tournament. It was so much fun good friends, good food and of course GOOD TIMES. Her team won all 4 games on Sat which gave them a direct spot in the championship game today. We were down 2-0 in the first half and Taylor drilled one into the goal, then she drilled another one into the goal so it was tied up 2-2 at half time. The other team went up 3-2 and again out of no where sissy nails one to tie it up 3-3. I was so proud of her!!! It went into a shoot out and our last player scored her goal and we won. We took first place!!! We beat an awesome team....So that is my proud momma moment!

We had such a great time on vacation this year. We spent about a week up north. We started at Higgins Lake for a day and then went onto Torch Lake with the Aeschilimans. We had so so much fun. The weather was not good 2 days and beautiful for 3 days. The kiddies fished every morning and swam everyday no matter how cold out it was. Here are some photos...

The Hawk Island Triatholon 2009

On Sunday May 31st I thought I was going to be a Triathlete but I became a dualathelte. As many as you know I had my 3rd ear surgery March 31st and the Dr. said NO swimming. Prior to my surgery I had taken swimming lessons and had been swimming for about 4 months knowing that would be my weakest link. I pressed on with the race. I met some of the nicest people and made strong frienships with others during this training. (You all know who you are) The dedication and training for this was simply amazing. I had to take off from all excercise from March 31st until April 28th. I cannot believe how much was lost during those weeks but I still did the bike and run. I biked 10 miles in roughly 40 min and ran 3.1 miles in 26 min. So you all ask what is next well.....the St. Johns 10miler race is August 8th and training began today!!! All my fellow tri peeps are hopefully getting their run in today....lol...Here are few pictures of me before the race, on my bike and with my buddy from high school who did amazing. He took 44th out of 700, he swam 400m in 8:07, Biked 10 miles in 30:30, and ran his 3.1 miles in 20:20...He was so awesome....

Mother's Day Tea and 2 Tired kiddies...

A few weeks ago Logan had a Mother's Day Tea Party. The kids chose all the hats and served their mom's. We could not help them with anything. Then they sang "I'm a Little Tea Pot." Taylor did it twice so I knew what to expect but every year it makes me cry. Maybe bc I know next year my baby goes to kindergarten. God help me on that day!! I will need extra prayers.

Sunday we had a BUSY day. We were on our way home about 4:30 and I looked in the backseat and again almost cried. I saw Logan laying on Tays lap. Needless to say they were both asleep by 6:50. I love my babies....

The sweetest lady ever....

So last night on May 3rd, 2009 the sweetest 93 year old women passed away. She was my nana. If I only end up being half the women she ever was. She has touched so many people. She has 8 children which one passed in infancy, 13 grandchildren which one has also passed and 14 greatgrandchildren with one on the way. She loved us all so much. She made homemade bread like no other nana. I could eat loaves of it with her homemade strawberry jam on it. She made the best burgers on the grill with homemade chocalte milk shakes, the best twinkie cake ever. Her cookies unbelieveable. Every Christmas she made her homemade turtles with the yummiest carmel in them....good times...She lived near Lake Michigan, there was something about waking up at nana's and smelling the lake and hearing the birds chirping outside the windows. Needless to say she has lived an amazing life having lost her bestfriend and husband, my papa, back in 1979. She did nothing but devote herself to her family and church. I love her more than she will ever know.....Here's a few photos from her last bday!!!

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING.....

Oh my oh my where has the time gone well let me begin....

Lets see after all the sickness went crazy thru our house we got so busy with indoor soccer. The kiddies played on Sat and Sundays and I played on Monday nights. I loved it. The kids loved it too. I was training for my tri when my "bad" ear started to give me trouble. So on March 31st I had yet another surgery which met no gym for 3 weeks and no tri. I was so sad but I knew my ear needed to get handled. Then it was the holy Saturday my dear old Gramps passed away at the age of 90. He was so sweet he left behind my 89 year old nana. Our prayers are with her. They were married 66 years I cannot even imagine. Next was my sweet little Taylor's 7th bday. Wow what a bday for her. It started on Sat with my family over for a combination of Easter and Bday wishes, then we celebrated Monday night her bday bc Dave and I would be at my gramps visitation on her actual bday. So all the Schroeders went to Red Robin and they sang to Taylor who was of course mortified. Then on Tuesday she was with Dave's mom and dad for her bday. They went to Toys R' Us and then out to Fiesta Charra for dinner where again they sang to her. Then finally on Sunday we had a kids party at Jumpin Jax which was so fun. She had quite a bday week. Then we prepared for the wedding out in California. My cousin Carisa got married. I was a bridesmaid and Logan and Taylor were the ring bear and flower girl. (my camera died) more photos to come. Let me brag for a minute they were so cute oh my gosh. I cried my eyes out as they held hands walking down the aisle. We had a great time. It was very busy but we enjoyed Sunday to ourselves. The kids swam and played outside. Now onto today my nana is now on her way to heaven. (this is my mom's mom) She is in hospice and encircled by her children. So it will only be a few more days. Please say lots of prayers for our family. I have to say she is an amazing lady and if I live to be 93 like her I pray that I can do and be half of what she is. I will post more photos in a few days....

Our fast trip to Califronia and T not feeling well...

Mine and Tay's trip was fast but great to California. We had a fantastic time. Taylor loved Chinatown. Here is a photo of her in Chinatown. My camera was acting up so I only got one other picture with Taylor and the bride to be Carisa. We got home on Sunday night and Wed morning Taylor woke up with a fever. There has been wicked sickness in her school this week. 49 kids out Wednesday alone. In the 2 first grade classrooms there were 20 students gone. Needless to say this morning I was hoping for a fever free girl but it is still hovering around 100. So here is a photo of T not feeling well and poor Logan is sick of being HOMEBOUND!!! ( I am too)

My new Home...

I thought I would post some photos of our home. After realizing our house is not going to sell in this lovely housing market we decided to do some painting, add some built-ins and get a new dining room table. Here is a little peak. (The pictures are not the best...sorry)

Daddy Daughter Dance

Last night was the St. Joes Daddy Daughter Dance. Taylor was excited to go but only danced a little of the chicken dance with David. David got Taylor a little flower to wear. They had a nice dinner at Big Boy with a bunch of other daddy's and daughters. It is kinda a tradition for dinner at Big Boy and then the dance.

The Road Trip that ended up back at home....

We left on Friday at 4:20 from Wiebers to go to Otsego for the night and all day Saturday. We had a quick stop in Lansing and then a stop at 7-11 for Slurppies and a snack and on the road. I should have known something was wrong with Logan when he passed on getting a snack. We got almost to 131 and he started to puke in the backseat. Thank god we had slurppie cups but still the DVD player had puke in it and all over his coat and seat. UGH...David of course pulled over at the first gas station who had no antibacterial cleaner so I used paper towels and window cleaner to clean the car out. I of course go into germaphobic mode and want only antibacterial cleaner. So we loaded everyone up and I sat on paper towel in the back seat and held a big gulp cup under his chin and we headed home. At 7:51 we pulled back into our driveway. Logan fell asleep in the car. We set him up with his bowl and blankets and he slept all night without getting sick again. I of course continued with antibacterial cleaner when we got home in the truck. It should be germ free with the bottle I used...lol....Good times making family memories...

HAPPY NEW YEARS....

We had a great New Years Eve over at the Pope's. Thanks for hosting a great party. At Taylor's begging request to go home we left about 11:00. She was so tired. I found Logan on the third floor of the house playing with Taylor's friend Rachel. It was so sweet. Tay fell asleep on the way home not Logan though. Everyone was awake at 11:59 and like 30 seconds the ball drops and I look at my 3 and this is what I saw......Yup they fell asleep with 30 seconds left. Even Logan did...So I tapped David to go to bed and I put the kiddies in their beds. Good times...
